It really is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day routine.
Easy to stay in a reactionary mode all the time, just handling the next obstacle as it comes to you. I have been very lucky to have met some incredibly smart and driven people. There is something I notice they do differently than most. And I want to share them with you. Here are a few things you can do.
Make a plan. This sounds simple, but you need to have some goals to hit that every day. Even something as simple as cleaning your desk, house, making the bed, etc.
Start with the first thing in the morning. Get your ass up, so you're in control. Not panicked by the alarm and then moving at a frantic pace till you're at work. Own that shit in the AM.
Give yourself 30 extra min to breathe, focus, and have a plan.
Take care of yourself first. Even the dumbass airlines know you're no good to anyone unless you save yourself first. That's why they have you put your oxygen mask on first. So, take a little bit for yourself in the mornings. Walk, stretch, prep some food, meditate, or anything that will free up thought later. We all know there will always be things you want to do, but by the end of the day, they get pushed off due to other obligations and time constraints.
These are two simple things. I don't want to give you ten. Just put these two to work. A way to think about this is to STAY ON THE OFFENSIVE all day. Instead of spending the majority of your life being told when to do shit, you make that call cause you have a plan and are in control.
Bring the fight to life and the universe.
Don't forget, time and the universe are indifferent to your goals and plans.
They simply don't give a fuck. They also don't want to see you fail. They don't give a shit.
No one is out to get you or hold you back. 9 times out of 10, you are what's in your way. Make the decision to always be at the wheel. You can't hope for success and progress, meanwhile just letting go of the wheel and seeing where the wind blows. You have to have some intent and a direction to use the wind. For what good is the wind without an idea of how to position your sails.
Take control of your shit little by little. Figure out how to steal time throughout your day. Even simple shit like getting up and stretching every hour.
Do something that you are 100% in control of and let that positive momentum build up. That building of momentum is what will carry you over the obstacles that get thrown at you.
Your life is ending one second at a time. You don't get a second chance, so embrace the chaos of this one you have and OWN THE FUCK OUT OF IT.
